In just a few steps, our THC calculator provides an initial estimate of how long THC might be detectable in your body – whether in urine or blood. We show you which factors influence the elimination time and how best to use the tool.
How does our THC calculator work?
The calculator works with a few, but crucial, pieces of information from you. You enter some basic data, and the tool provides you with an assessment within seconds – straightforward and without detours.
Entering the most important data
We ask you for your body weight, height, and how often you consume. The quantity also plays a role. These factors influence how your body processes THC and how long its metabolites remain detectable. The more precise your information, the more meaningful the estimate.
Calculation in seconds
Once you have filled in all the fields, the tool calculates for you. The calculation is based on scientific average values and takes into account the differences between occasional and regular consumption. The whole thing only takes a moment – fast, clear, and without complicated steps.
Result: Reference value for urine and blood
You receive two separate time windows: one for detectability in urine, and one for blood. These values show you the period during which THC metabolites could theoretically still be measurable. Important: These are reference values, not exact predictions.
What influences THC elimination time?
The duration that THC stays in your body depends on several factors. Some of these you can influence, while others are individually different. We categorize the most important ones for you.
Frequency and quantity of consumption
Those who consume occasionally generally eliminate THC faster than someone who consumes regularly or daily. With frequent consumption, THC accumulates in fatty tissue and is released more slowly. The amount per consumption also plays a role: larger amounts mean longer detection times.
Body type and metabolism
Your body fat percentage influences how long THC is stored – the higher the percentage, the longer the storage. Your metabolism also counts: a fast metabolism generally breaks down substances more quickly. Exercise, nutrition, and fluid intake can support the process, but not accelerate it in the classical sense.
Individual differences
Every body reacts differently. Age, gender, genetic predisposition – all of this plays a role. Therefore, two people with similar data can have different elimination times. The calculator works with average values; the actual range can be wider.
Detectability: Urine vs. Blood
THC and its metabolites are detectable for different lengths of time in various bodily fluids. Urine and blood each have their own time windows – and their own significance.
THC in urine
THC metabolites can be detected in urine for the longest period. For single use, this can be a few days; for regular use, several weeks or even longer. Urine tests are the most common method because they are easy to perform and cover a wide time window.
THC in blood
THC is detectable in blood for a significantly shorter period – usually only a few hours to days. Blood tests primarily indicate acute consumption and are often used in traffic. Here, the question is whether someone has recently consumed, not about consumption weeks ago.
Why the values vary
Detectability depends on which substance is being measured: THC itself or its metabolites like THC-COOH. In urine, primarily metabolites are detected, which remain in the body longer. In blood, active THC is often measured, which disappears more quickly. This is why the time windows differ so significantly.
Limitations of the calculator and important notes
Our tool offers guidance, but no certainty. There are situations where you should exercise additional caution – and limits that you should know.
Only an estimate, not a guarantee
The calculator works with average values from scientific studies. Your individual elimination may deviate – up or down. Do not rely on the result when it comes to legal or health consequences. It is a guideline, not a medical or legal statement.
When you should be cautious
If you are participating in road traffic, subject to professional tests, or for other reasons need to be sure that THC is no longer detectable, the calculator is not sufficient. In such cases, you should consider professional advice or laboratory tests. For health questions, medical advice is also the better choice.
Transparency and personal responsibility
With this tool, we want to provide you with clarity – about processes, timeframes, and influencing factors. At the same time, the responsibility lies with you. Use the calculator as a guide, not as a basis for decision-making in critical situations. We rely on transparency so that you can act informed.
